Marconi Thermal Imaging Camera

Imagine the scene: You're a fire fighter, called to a fire on an industrial site where someone may be trapped. The ambient temperature as you progress towards the inferno is 400°C, it's pitch black and there may be canisters of highly flammable liquids about to explode.

All you have to rely on to find your way around is your thermal imaging camera and it has to be 100% reliable.

This scenario was used to develop three new concepts for Marconi, the world's leading manufacturer of fire fighting thermal imaging cameras. They wanted to ask fire fighters at an industry trade show what else they needed from a thermal imaging camera. Alloy was asked to present concepts of how the cameras might function and perform in the future.

The LightWorks technology within UG/Render was used to create the images that were put together to create animations. The images were so realistic that Marconi had several enquiries requesting information as to where the cameras could be purchased!
