Before DeLaval became a Configura customer, it had over 80,000 different product structures at companies in different markets. In order to sell and maintain all these static product structures, the administration became heavier and heavier and the actual planning of a total solution became very complicated and impossible for a person to implement alone.
A solution was needed which would improve logistics and help make DeLaval's product range more uniform. This solution was Configura! Configura provides a sales tool which can be adapted to different users, is user-friendly, flexible and quick to work with, which also simplifies the sales process for customers.
DeLaval has gone from selling components to selling highly configurable modules and by implementing Configura, DeLaval has reduced their quotation generation time by up to 70 per cent.
Today, DeLaval use more than 1000 licenses of Configura all over the world. The user is the sales person selling milking parlours and other dairy equipment to farmers. Typically the sales person sits down with the farmer in their own kitchen asking them questions about the farm: how many cows are there, how many times the farmer wants to milk the cows etc. The sales person can then immediately configure the appropriate system for them, just by using Configura and can directly present quotes and visualisations to the farmer. This saves time for both the sales man and for the farmer. The feedback to the farmer is instant, accurate and high quality and this speed up in the sales process helps Configura to provide an enhanced customer service.
