SHEFFIELD, UK (3 April 2012) - Lightworks, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, today announced that Marius Louw is the winner of the latest Lightworks Image Competition. 

Marius is based in South Africa where he creates his images using Caddie Software with its Caddie Vio rendering plug-in.  On hearing the news that his image had been chosen as the winner of the latest Lightworks Image Competition, Marius commented; "To create a lifelike render from something simple, you need to utilise something special.  This is exactly what Lightworks provide me with.  Years and years of experience in the field of photorealistic rendering gives me, the end user, the ability to illustrate and sell my vision.  The collaboration between Caddie and Lightworks, is the key to success.  Combining information and technology on a daily base, is what makes Caddie Vio a product to be reckoned with.  Caddie gives me the tools and options to achieve what I have in mind.  As they say:  ‘a picture paints a thousand words’.  This render speaks for itself!"

The runners up in the competition were Leonid Platonov who is based in the Ukraine and who uses the Artisan for Kompas-3D software product from Ascon; and Kheang Chrun, a New Zealander who uses the trueSpace application.

Entries are now being received for the next competition and Lightworks users are encouraged to send images in quickly for their chance to win an Apple iPad.
