SHEFFIELD, UK (21 July 2010) - Lightworks, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, is pleased to announce the development of their partnership with Caustic Graphics, with the implementation of OpenRL within Lightworks products.

Lightworks were early adopters of Caustic technology when Lightworks products were optimised to run on Caustic graphics accelerator cards in the summer of 2009, enabling Lightworks customers to take advantage of the new technology. Caustic have now introduced their next generation OpenRL Software Development Toolkit, and Caustic One Graphics Accelerator cards and Lightworks are, once again, at the forefront of this exciting new development.

At this year’s Siggraph Exhibition in Los Angeles, OpenRL will be used to accelerate the performance of Lightworks Artisan SnapShot Studio - a new application for the quick and easy generation of photorealistic images from 3D CAD data. OpenRL has been implemented in Lightworks Artisan and Author, so existing Lightworks customers have the opportunity to take advantage of the new technology.
