Lightworks presents at Theory & Practice of Computer Graphics Conference

SHEFFIELD, UK (30 August 2010) - Lightworks, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, is pleased to announce the Company’s participation in this year’s conference for the Theory and Practice of Computer Graphics. 

Neil Gatenby, a senior software engineer and lighting simulation specialist at Lightworks, will be one of three keynote speakers at this event.  Neil’s talk, entitled “Ridge walks in the graphics highlands, avoiding the falls, reaching the summit” will address the issues and complexities that can arise when writing a high performance photorealistic renderer.  He will discuss the use of GPU and CPU multi-processing as well as global illumination and anti-aliasing techniques.

This year’s conference is hosted at the University of Sheffield, England and takes place from the 6th to 8th of September.  The aim of the conference is to focus on theoretical and practical aspects of computer graphics, bringing together top practitioners, users and researchers from across Europe.
