Lightworks presents new technology at Siggraph, Los Angeles

SHEFFIELD, UK (27 July 2010) - Lightworks, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, is exhibiting at the SIGGRAPH Exhibition in Los Angeles California. As the show opened today, visitors to the Company’s booth – 225 – were finding out about all the latest technological developments that Lightworks was presenting at both the exhibition and the conference.

Technical Paper
Lightworks always aims to be at the forefront of new technology and delegates to the Conference were today fascinated by Manuel Gamito’s paper on ‘Accurate Multi-dimensional Poisson-Disk Sampling’ in which he talked about the efficient generation of Poisson-Disk sample distribution in a space. Manuel went on to explain how Lightworks is already implementing these new findings in their own rendering software development.

Special Show Announcements
In recent weeks Lightworks has been pleased to announce how the Company is responding to current and future market needs by working with key partners to provide customers with improved accelerated rendering solutions. Siggraph 2010 sees the preview of new OptiX based Lightworks products which enhance the customer experience by enabling the use of larger and larger models, and which give significant performance improvements and higher quality renders.

Visitors to the Lightworks booth have also witnessed the preview of two new products: Lightworks Alto and Lightworks Architect. Alto is a new network rendering product which takes advantage of the latest GPU technology to facilitate internal cloud rendering; Architect is a new real-time data management engine which provides software developers with access to rendering platforms.

Partnership with Caustic Graphics
Lightworks and Caustic Graphics have been collaborating since the launch of CausticRT. Lightworks offers perfect rendering solutions to take advantage of the latest Caustic technology and the Company has recently implemented OpenRL, the latest generation of technology from Caustic Graphics into Lightworks products. Visitors to both the Lightworks booth and the Caustic Graphics booth at Siggraph are seeing a demonstration of how this latest technology is being used within Lightworks Artisan and Lightworks Author to accelerate rendering.

Dave Forrester, Managing Director at Lightworks, commented; “Siggraph continues to be an important launch pad for Lightworks technology and 2010 is no exception to that. This is our biggest ever presence at Siggraph and we’re really excited about the latest Lightworks solutions on show.”

Lightworks is on booth 225 at Siggraph, Los Angeles.
