For the past 35 years Marco Crawford has worked in Architecture, as a CAD Manager on a number of different sites, as a consultant, a developer and visualiser, both in the UK, as well as overseas.
Marco is based in Edinburgh, Scotland and he mostly works freelance in Teaching, Software Development and also as an advisor in System Management. A major part of these various roles is the visual presentation. Marco has a broad experience of many CAD systems but always returns to MicroGDS as he believes it is amongst the best tools for Architecture in all its forms, including working drawings, presentation drawings as well as for the excellent modelling and superb rendering qualities which are seamlessly built into the one product. Says Marco; "Having Lightworks embedded in MicroGDS is crucial to the way I work. It allows for early design modelling to be created and forms part of the evolving design, with materials, textures and lighting developing at all stages, with no need to export to external renderers". His final model is always rendered in MicroGDS to a high quality photorealistic finish.
Marco also uses Piranesi for any post processing work, to add clutter such as plants and street furniture, or to create a sketch/stylised visual. Piranesi is also available from the same developers as MicroGDS.
Marco can be contacted at Marco Crawford, or via his website at: www.marek-p.co.uk
Marco uses MicroGDS with its integrated Lightworks Rendering engine, as well as Piranesi, both of which are developed by Informatix Software International, based in Cambridge in the UK. If you would like further details go to: www.informatix.co.uk
