Lightwork Design celebrates 20th anniversary of Lightworks

LightWork Design, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, is celebrating its 20th anniversary year.
The company began back in 1989 and over the past 20 years the LightWorks rendering engine has been developed into a key solution within the computer design marketplace, integrated within over 80 software applications and used by more than 2 million users worldwide.
LightWorks was originally developed to meet a gap in the marketplace for a photorealistic software toolkit. It was a revolution at the time and was quickly integrated within many key applications around the world. Gordon Oliver, one of the original founders of LightWork Design and former Managing Director, explains, "We started LightWorks when 3D graphics hadn't really been applied much to areas outside of entertainment such as engineering and architecture, and when computer hardware to run the software cost tens of thousands of pounds. From initial use by a few early adopters, the market grew as more and more people realised the power and benefits of LightWorks. The Company began life during tough economic times in the late eighties and early nineties so it's fantastic to see LightWorks in such a strong position 20 years later - a real testament to the continuous development and innovation that characterises the company and its products."
