LightWorks 7.5
Don't forget that the current version of LightWorks
features revolutionary new technology in the LightWorks Real-time product. This enables the interactive rendering of high-quality images using portable LightWorks shaders that operate seamlessly in both hardware and software rendering. There have also been
a number of improvements made to the LightWorks Global Illumination product which make it easier for users to create high-quality images using radiosity.
For more information, go to the Latest Release webpage.
LightWorks Optimised for 64-bit CPUs
The LightWorks rendering engine has been optimised for 2 more new 64-bit CPUs, extending the number of LightWorks supported platforms to 16. LightWorks is now available for both the AMD 64 and the Intel EM64T technologies running Windows 64-bit operating systems. These CPUs are able to access larger amounts of memory than previous CPUs, helping customers to anticipate demand and release products that give end-users increased efficiency, which is particularly useful for those working with very large and complex models.
Updated 64-bit CPU support on Mac G5 platform
LightWork Design has also
announced an update to the 64-bit version of the LightWorks rendering engine for G5 processors running Mac OS X.
The first 64-bit version of LightWorks for the G5 processor was made available to customers in 2003, ensuring that they could get access to the technology as early as possible. The latest update to the 64-bit version for the G5 includes increases in performance and efficiency.

LightWork
Design continues to work closely with a number of leading
material suppliers and standards organisations to bring
a constantly increasing collection of real-world materials
in the LWA format to users of LWA-Enabled applications.
These materials give users the power to accurately select,
render and specify ranges of real-world content within their
designs.
We have recently released material libraries for the Visualfx range of
resins from
GE Advanced Materials Plastics a leading global manufacturer and distributor of plastics, resins and plastics shapes.
These new materials - and many more - are available for download
from the LightWorks-User website

SoftTech
We are pleased to announce that the latest release of Fresco for SPIRIT version 12 - from SOFTTECH GmbH - integrates a new version of LightWorks and is also now LWA-Enabled, giving users access to a wide range or real-world architectural materials and plug-ins available from the LightWorks-User website.
Solid Edge
Users of the Virtual Studio+ add-on application for Solid Edge® software UGS Corp.'s industry-leading, value-based 3D computer-aided design (CAD) system for the mainstream PLM market, can now accurately visualise a range of resins from GE Advanced Materials Plastics', using the set of digital materials recently released by LightWork Design in the LWA format. Virtual Studio+ is fully LWA-Enabled, which allows new LightWorks shaders to be dynamically added to the application, another benefit for users of the Virtual Studio+ add-on application for Solid Edge.

about LightWorks |
|
"The ability to accurately visualize resins from GE Plastics is a powerful design tool for our users. Virtual Studio+ provides a significant increase in the quality of work seen in our quarterly design contest. By making Virtual Studio+ fully LWA-Enabled we've made it an easy-to-use solution for our customers that will address their current and future needs."
Dan Staples, director of Solid Edge development for UGS
“LightWorks has added a lot of value to our latest SPIRIT 12 version. The first responses we have received from our users already highlight the very high output-quality, the dramatic improvements in illuminating scenes and the almost boundless possibilities in describing materials, surfaces and attributes. Using the LightWorks GUI Framework made it really easy for our developers to make SPIRIT LWA-Enabled and we are delighted with the finished software.”
Michael Muens, Product Manager at SOFTTECH
"The ability to accurately simulate resins from our Visualfx portfolio will make it really easy for designers to select and specify innovative materials that bring their designs to life. The physical accuracy of the LightWorks renderings are amazing!"
Yvette Bogaert, Aesthetic Products and Services Leader at GE Advanced Materials Plastics Europe.
“The LightWorks technology has empowered Configura with state-of-the-art high quality rendering and visualisation possibilities. Our clients use LightWorks functionality to produce impressive presentation material for their customers. The excellent combination of the Configura configurator and the LightWorks technology has proven to be extremely powerful for companies that want to speed up their sales process. Configura has successfully collaborated with LightWork Design since 1993 and it has been a prosperous journey.”
