Every year Lightworks give back to the local community by sponsoring and fundraising for a chosen charity in South Yorkshire. In 2014 this charitable tradition continues as Lightworks' team members push their limits by taking part in various challenges to fundraise for the Cathedral Archer Project (CAP).

CAP is a day centre that supports the homeless and vulnerable in Sheffield; founded in 1990 as a breakfast project, CAP now resides in a purpose built centre, where the staff and volunteers provide much needed food, shelter, donated clothing, as well as medical support. The CAP team go above and beyond to help those that use their centre, giving them access to a pathway out of homelessness by providing education and qualifications to enable them to seek work. To find out more about the work CAP do visit their website.

The CAP day centre costs roughly £2,100 a day to run, and this year the Lightworks team will be doing there bit to help this fantastic charity to continue to support those that benefit from the care and support offered.

Lightworks are one of the first companies to sponsor the CAP Breakfast Club this year; our sponsorship will provide a week’s worth of breakfasts to those that use the centre. We’ll also be fundraising by entering a group of our seasoned runners into the Sheffield Half Marathon; this event is becoming an annual tradition for several members of our team. This year, the braver (and most physically fit) team members have volunteered to enter some new and more extreme challenges, keep your eyes peeled for more info on these events.

David Forrester, Chief Executive Officer at Lightworks said; ‘Every year we like to work with a charity that is important in the local community, and this year we’re pleased to be supporting the Cathedral Archer Project. To raise money for this worthy cause, several of my colleagues and I plan to run the Sheffield Half Marathon, an event which we enter annually; we also plan to enter some new and challenging events this year in an effort to raise as much money as possible for CAP, to help them support Sheffield’s vulnerable people throughout 2014.’

We hope that in Lightworks' 25th year, we can break our fundraising records for this worthy Sheffield charity, to really help those most vulnerable in our local community. We’ll keep you up-to-date with our latest fundraising efforts, follow @LightworkDesign for all the latest info.
