In less than a month’s time the team at Lightworks will be returning to the heartland of global technology – Silicon Valley – for the annual GPU Technology Conference, 2016.
Based at stand 811, from 4-7 April, we’ll be showcasing our powerful 3D rendering technology, Iray®+, and demonstrating its unparalleled capabilities for developing interactive, flexible and truly engaging point-of-sale configurators.
Using NVIDIA technology, the Iray+ software development kit (SDK) allows us to create point-of-sale configurators that reach the next level of reality, building and adapting real-world materials that act and appear in the same way they’re manufactured or found in nature.
Its photoreal rendering capabilities then bring these materials to life, creating high-quality, realistic 3D visuals that match the quality of your marketing images and allow customers to interact with your product, be it on the web, mobile or in the showroom environment.
If you're attending GTC and want more information on how we create our configurators then simply attend our presentation 'How to Create Photoreal Configurators Using Lightworks Iray+' which will be delivered by Dave Coldron or Product Director and Dave Hutchinson our COO on Wednesday 6th April at 9.30am in room LL21B.
A more engaging customer experience
Whether it’s a fully-interactive configurator that allows the user to browse through and switch multiple material options and design features, or a configurator that uses pre-rendered imagery, Iray+ creates a more engaging customer experience when it comes to product configuration.
Photoreal visuals and real-world material and lighting scenarios immerse the customer in the product’s design, allowing them to bring their own ideas to life, in turn, adding value and increasing conversions and revenue.
At GTC 2016, we’ll be giving visitors to our stand the chance to experience our configurators for themselves, with two demonstrations set to take place – an interactive, web-based, proof of concept configurator designed for an aftermarket wheels company, and a pre-rendered configurator using a Nike trainer.
The web-based proof of concept configurator demonstrates a complex build that renders on the cloud and caches the customers’ design combinations, allowing them the ability to view multiple options and switch wheels and tyres on different car types quickly, without the need to pre-render images.
We’ll be demonstrating our Nike configurator to showcase how pre-rendered images can be used to create an engaging customer application, ideal for when the product range isn’t too large and won’t change often.
Visitors to our stand at GTC will be able to try their hand at both configurators, customising designs by switching between material colours, properties and design feature to experience the Iray+ technology first-hand, in real time.
Dave Forrester, Managing Director of Lightworks, said: “We’re really excited about returning to GTC 2016 in April.
“It’s an important event for our team here at Lightworks, not only because it’s one of the largest and most important conferences in the global technology calendar, but because it’s presented by our partners NVIDIA, whose Iray technology is at the heart of our products and SKD.
“We’re looking forward to demonstrating the capabilities of Iray+ at the event, and we’re sure attendees will be impressed by the flexibility and interactivity the technology brings to the product configurator market.”
Once again, we’re proud to be joining forces with the team at BOXX Technologies (BOXX) to bring our technology to life at GTC 2016, using two APEXX 4 machines, both with two K6000 NVIDIA GPUs.
