System Requirements

Minimum requirements

• Autodesk® 3ds Max 2022® or later.
• Windows® 10 64-bit Professional operating system.
• 64-bit Intel or AMD multi-core processor.
• 4GB RAM.
• 2GB free disk space for installation.
• 3GB free disk space if downloading Material Libraries
• NVIDIA GPU with the following minimum specifications*:
  • CUDA compute capability 5.0 and higher.
  • Driver must support CUDA 12.9 or higher. For Windows, this depends upon having NVIDIA RTX / Quadro driver version 580.88 or later.

Recommended requirements

• Windows® 11 or Windows® 10 64-bit Professional operating system.
• 64-bit Intel or AMD multi-core processor.
• 8GB RAM.
• 2GB free disk space for installation.
• 3GB free disk space if downloading Material Libraries
• 2x NVIDIA GPUs with the following minimum specifications*:
  • CUDA compute capability 7.5 and higher.
  • Driver must support CUDA 12.9 or higher. For Windows, this depends upon having NVIDIA RTX / Quadro driver version 580.88 or later.

*CPU only mode

Iray for 3ds Max will run without a GPU, but for best performance we recommend using GPUs. If your GPU does not meet the minimum requirements then Iray will automatically use CPU rendering.
