Iray+ Flow Noise

Parameters

Color2

The noise blends between this and Colour2. These parameters will have no effect if connected to a Normal/Bump parameter.

Input: Color

Color2

The noise blends between this and Colour1. These parameters will have no effect if connected to a Normal/Bump parameter.

Size

The size of the features in the noise pattern.

Input: 0 – 1000

Phase

This can be used as a time control, in conjunction with 3ds Max key frames to simulate progression of the noise over time.

Levels

Controls the number of additional noise functions (octaves) to sample.

Input: 0 – ∞

Level Gain

If multiple levels are used, this parameter specifies a weighting factor for subsequent levels. Increasing this will tend to give more contrast between the noise colors.

Level Scale

If multiple levels are used, this parameter specifies a global scaling factor for subsequent levels.

Level Prog UScale

If multiple levels are used, this parameter specifies an additional scaling factor in the "u" direction.

Level Prog VMotion

If multiple levels are used, this parameter specifies an offset for subsequent levels in the "v" direction.

Input: 0 – ∞

Absolute Noise

When enabled, the pattern will appear more billowing and turbulent.

✱  Note: The FlipTangent checkboxes on a geometry component's Normal parameter will not function if a Noise or Bump map is attached, only Normal maps will be affected.
